The best way to predict the future is to create it
-Abraham Lincoln
When I've fallen off-course it is usually because of information overload. I have been making countless decisions everyday and reach a point where there are so many options to choose and decisions to be made, I shut off.
When I shut off, I stop choosing and start coasting. Whatever is at arms length is grabbed and leading me to a mediocre day turned to a week, and maybe month.
It's been about 6 months for me. Feeling like my energy is no longer centered on my choice but choosing whatever comes my way.
It's lead to not feeling super fulfilled because things are not coming easily. I have to put in a lot of work to be semi-successful. I've been tired. But I have my attention shifting from survival to choice. I am starting to get the ball rolling on the track instead of searching for the track.
I have been in fear of the future and for what it might turn out to look like. Or how long I will be on this grind before I feel financially secure. But to follow Lincoln's words, I can create my future through my actions.
I want to be a successful business woman, so I choose to create a strong relationship with my clients and build connections through and from them.
I want to have a healthy relationship with food and healthy body all year round. So I choose to prioritized how much I am eating, which is based on meal planning and prepping.
When I focus in on focusing out on the big areas of my life, I have two areas I am looking for improvement. While they are big areas, it feels less of a "to-do" thinking about the two instead of the hundreds of tiny changes I could be making.
I want to create a stronger business, so I am going to network with my current families to let them know I am looking for more work and if they have any interested families to send them my contact information.
I want to improve my calorie consumption, so I will be proactive in meal planning. Creating meals to easily grab and have fruits and veggies if I need a snack.
Is it that simple? It could be. If I let it be. Simple doesn't mean easy, but it can be simple steps that lead to the future you want.
I know there will be a lot more changes I will take on for both of these areas. But I can start with the big ticket items that will have the biggest effect with equal effort of the other tasks I will complete.
Even when it feels like I don't have my shit together, I know I do because of my awareness and action to change.
Writing on this blog space is a link to my fulfillment. Writing, journalling releasing my thoughts into the universe creates more space for more creation.
When I achieve this task each day, I feel more confident to stay in line with the person I am creating. One who creates, is consistent, is doing.
I have been coasting for months going through the motions, cutting corners. But I don't feel like I need to hit an extreme shift to get back on track or excel. Because that will get me back here a year from now.
To create a new life trajectory, I need to do something new. New doesn't need to be big. New for me, is simple continue what I do that is positive, and add to it. I am adding structured sleep schedule. I am adding time to write. I am adding prepped meals. I am adding quiet, alone time.
I am just learning this now. So I'll report back in a few months if this shift was enough to get me where I want.
