The importance of normalcy and routines

The school year is winding down and while many kids and twachers are ready for summer,

summer means a routine is disrupted. The schedule you’ve been following for 9 months has ended And you are forced to create a new normal.

For most students, this means too much free time. Far more responsibilitues at home. Inconsistencies, unknown expectations and for some, not the safest environments.

when winding down the year, your top grades are transitioning into a new school or new chapter.

and kids have egos. They don’t want damaged. So even when they don’t speak about fears and anxieties, new chapters are scary and leave some room for nerves to take over.

So by enforcing a countdown til summer can instill a lot of fear. And reenforce that they are going to have a very long, not so great summer.

keep your routines. For many students this is the most reliable environment they have. When you change your routine reavtion and behavior, they can feel even more uncertainty and lead to even more behavior problems. Send love and consistency.
