Be "well rounded" they said... look where that got us

This is an industry that was created for the masses. Masses in the industrial revolution to make sure they were equipped in general, well rounded knowledge to be good line workers.

High quality traits of successful adults have less to do with “well rounded people” and more to do with experts in a specific area and mastered their strongest traits. In order to be Great, you must practice, work hard and spend countless hours perfecting your craft. If you try to be good at everything, you end up being mediocre at everything.

If you are able to be dedicated and driven enough to specialize, you will not be amazing at everything. But with enough work, you will be GREAT at that one area, maybe even an expert if you stick with it long enough.

Yet we are teaching students who are not great in every subject, to grit their teeth and get through 12 years of resenting and dreading half of the courses they are forced to take. we’re building students on a platform that’s not only NOT designed for ingenuity, growth expansion, but it’s severely outdated and limiting any future potential for any child who isn’t a test taker and conformer to the harsh structure of a classroom.

Steve Jobs

Bill Gates

Elon Musk

Jeff Bezos,

But even further, famous actors and actresses

Tom Hanks

Denzel Washington

Audrey Hepburn

Elizabeth Taylor

Meryl Streep

They all specialized in one specific industry and excelled. Most of them, were so focused on their goal and achievements, they weren't "well rounded" students. They all weren't A students in every subject, and many weren't A students in ANY class.

But that's not news to you. We've heard this a million times over. Yet we still teach in a system that praises those who are "well rounded" and can conform to a rigid structure.

WHY?

Because I know this is NOT the best we can do for your future...
